Lekki has changed shape over the past decade. What was largely a residential sprawl beyond Victoria Island has become a corridor in its own right, with commercial development, offices, schools, retail and hospitality following the residential growth out along the axis.

For advertisers, the appeal is a population that is younger, increasingly affluent and growing, and that spends a significant part of its day travelling the same route in and out of the island. Traffic is heavy and repeated, which is exactly the condition that makes outdoor advertising work: the same person seeing the same message often enough for it to register.

It is also a market where a brand can establish presence early. Being visible in a corridor while it is still developing tends to cost less than arriving once it is established, and it builds recognition among residents as the area grows.

The corridor's traffic pattern is heavily directional and time-bound: a large volume moves outbound in the morning and inbound in the evening. That means a position on the main route is seen by the same commuting population twice a day, which builds frequency quickly over a two-week campaign.

If your audience is residents rather than commuters, the same corridor still works — Phase I carries the local traffic that moves within the area as well as through it.
